Our Award Winners
-
2025 Kay Holland Clubwoman With a Heart
This award is presented annually to a clubwoman who embodies the true heart of Sedgefield Woman’s Club. Just the woman for whom this award is named, she is a woman of dignity, courage, and compassion and brings light and laughter to anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Consequently, this award is not based on merit but rather on these characteristics and those reflected in the Clubwoman Collect. The winner of this unique award must have been a club member for a minimum of three years and will be determined by secret ballot at the April General Membership Meeting.
Congratulations to Tara Daniel! Tara passed away prior to receiving the award. Pictured is her husband, Mike Daniel.
The recipient of this award will be nominated the following year for the “Julene Barlow McPhaul Clubwoman with a Heart” for GFWC-NC which is awarded at the State Convention. The state award is given annually to a general clubwoman who by her efforts provides ‘heart” for her club. It is not to be given on the basis of community or club involvement, but rather to the person who best exemplifies the words of the Collect for Clubwomen.
-
2025 Distinguished Service Award
This award is given annually to a clubwoman who best exemplifies the true spirit of the Club. The winner of this honor is selected by secret ballot at April General Membership Meeting and is the person the membership thinks has been outstanding in furthering the social, cultural, and civic welfare development in the community. The President and the immediate past President are not eligible to receive this award. Winning this coveted award is one of the highest honors a member of the Sedgefield Woman’s Club can receive.
Congratulations to Tara Daniel! Tara passed away prior to receiving the award. Pictured is her husband, Mike Daniel.
The recipient of this award will be nominated for the following year’s “General Clubwoman of the Year” for the GFWC-NC District 4. The district award is given annually to honor a clubwoman who has given of her time, talents, interest, organizational efforts, and active participation to render outstanding service through the Federation.
